Along with the discipline of study and the striving for technical ability I look for other elements to represent the subject’s narrative and meaning. Colour and design, atmosphere and use of space as an object that combine to suggest a hapenning.

Working mostly in oil paints, applied as several layers, the studies are usually worked out initially on an iPad. I look to keep original sketch aspects and include them as they are part of the process of the ‘finished’ piece.
